James - "I am rowing for Headway, the leading brain injury charity, because last year my friend was hit by a car and has recovered through their support"

I am a graduate from Birmingham University and following the Indian Ocean Rowing Race I plan to become a doctor and pursue this career through the army. I have always wanted to push my physical and mental boundaries to their absolute maximum and believe rowing the Indian Ocean will certainly achieve this.

I have a keen interest in helping and building awareness of ones health and sport so I hope that we will be able to raise our target amount for Headway (no. 1025852) to make a difference in these key areas.

My passion for sports started in South Africa where I was born and grew up and have always had a successful and enjoyable involvement in school and university teams, particularly in hockey, cricket and athletics. Rowing is now at the forefront of my attention and with my keen determination and commitment I believe we can be the fastest and youngest pair across the Indian Ocean!
